A recent Jefferson/Westside bath remodel from late last summer. Fitting the triangular open storage cabinet to match the roofline was a bit of a challenge, but not insurmountable. Most of the paint-grade material is Medex, an exterior-grade medium density fiberboard from SierraPine in Medford. Like most MDF, Medex is smooth, stable, and made with recycled wood fiber. Distinct from conventional MDF, though, Medex is quite hard, moisture resistant, and made with no-added formaldehyde resins. A good, local choice for painted projects, especially in high-moisture applications.
Other materials include salvaged western maple and NAF maple plywood from Eugene’s States Industries.
